The Deaf Animals revel in creating unashamedly big, adventurous songs. Soaring, soulful vocals and textured guitars are matched by a bombastic rhythm section. The band originally started out a few years back as a stripped-down rock three-piece playing hard, loud and fast. The addition of a fourth member last year was necessary to expand the band's ambitions for their studio and live sound.
The Deaf Animal Orchestra started out early 2006 as a stripped down, three-piece rock group. Three years later, after an EP, four single releases and the addition of a new fourth member just last year, we’re almost finished the recording of our first full-length album.
They're currently finishing their first full-length album with Irish producer Martin Quinn, due for release during Jan '10. This album is showing the band starting to finally nail down a definitive sound they can call their own. To date they've a string of independent releases to their name, and have played all over the country sharing stages with many of Ireland's big name acts. Free downloads of old releases are available from their website.
